‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ NFTs are launching today – Times of India

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Version) web3 movie experience, with limited-edition multimedia non-fungible token (NFT) versions of the film are launching today, as per a report by Techcrunch. For the NFTs, Warner Bros. Discovery has partnered with blockchain company Eluvio.
The Fellowship of the Ring NFTs comprise a 4K UHD, 3-hour-and-48-minute extended version of the 2001 film directed by Peter Jackson, over eight hours of bonus footage and commentary, image galleries and hidden AR collectibles, as per the report.
There are two editions of The Fellowship of the Rings NFTs: Mystery Edition and Epic Edition.
The Fellowship of the Ring Mystery Edition NFT set
The Mystery Edition is priced at $30 and comes with one of three location-based navigation menus modeled after a location in the film. The three location-based menus are The Shire, Rivendell and Mines of Moria. Warner Bros. and Eluvio will make 10,000 copies of the Mystery Edition.
The Fellowship of the Ring Epic Edition NFT set
The Epic Edition is the more premium edition and each copy costs more than triple than a Mystery Edition copy with the price at $100. The Epic Edition comes with all three location menus and also include exclusive bonus image galleries. Only 999 copies will be made.
“Eluvio is rolling out the NFTs via its Ethereum-compatible blockchain. On Friday, October 21 at 9 a.m. PDT/ 12 p.m. EDT (9.30 p.m. IST), “Lord of the Rings” fans can head to web3.wb.com/warnermedia/movieverse and create an Eluvio media wallet. The “Fellowship of the Ring” NFTs will be available to purchase with credit cards, debit or cryptocurrency. Once purchased, you can launch the web3 movie experience and stream the extended movie from the media wallet”, said the report.
“The Fellowship of the Ring” NFT set is the first such set that’s been made available in the WB Movieverse with two more NFT experiences coming. They could be the ones based on the second film and the final film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, though it’s not confirmed yet.
