The wait is over: Apple has ‘good news’ for iPhone 14 Pro buyers

Back in November 2022 — in a rather unprecedented move — Apple issued a statement on long waiting times for iPhone 14 Pro. In the past, there have been ‘issues’ with people have to wait for a few Apple products. For instance, the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air were hard to find because of supply chain issues. But Apple never really publicly commented.
For the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, Apple said that while it continued “to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.”
Apple had said that COVID-19 restrictions temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China. The facility was operating at a significantly reduced capacity. Now, it seems like there aren’t any delays in shipments of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Next-day delivery for the most expensive iPhones

We checked the iPhone 14 Pro (128GB) variant in the popular Deep Purple colour and the delivery date was the next day for three different pin codes. Till last month, the delivery timelines were extended to four to five weeks. The problem wasn’t restricted to India as almost every country was seeing a shortage of iPhone 14 Pro models.
The Covid-19 lockdowns in China had impacted the supply and production of iPhone 14 Pro models severely. There was also a lot of unrest in Zhengzhou — also known as ‘iPhone city’ — at the Foxconn plant where the iPhones are manufactured. Multiple reports had suggested that Apple’s shipments for iPhone 14 could be short by as many as six million because of the delays in the Pro models. The real impact, however, will be known on February 2, when Apple will announce its quarterly results.
