A new – Leaving Arcade Soon – section lists 15 titles that will soon be unavailable. The list includes:

  • Projection: First Light
  • Lifeslide
  • Various Daylife
  • EarthNight
  • Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree
  • Over the Alps
  • Dread Nautical
  • Cardpocalypse
  • Towaga: Among Shadows
  • Dead End Job
  • Don’t Bug Me!
  • Spelldrifter
  • Spidersaurs
  • Explottens
  • BattleSky Brigade: Harpooner

There is no idea when these games will be leaving the Arcade. However, a recently published support article on Apple Arcade gives us an idea of what happens when a game leaves the Arcade.
What happens when a game leaves Apple Arcade
Apple says that games are destined to leave the Arcade, and if you have downloaded a game before it retires, you can play it for two more weeks, at least. But, if you had not downloaded the game before it left the Arcade, you would not be able to play it, and you will get a “No Longer Available Message” message. The same applies to the users who downloaded it previously but are trying to play it after the two-week period.
There is no mention of why these games are leaving Arcade, but a recent MacRumors report gives us some idea of what is happening. According to the report, Apple signed a three-year contract with developers to put their games on the Arcade in 2019.
Why these games are leaving Apple Arcade
It is 2022 now, and some of these contracts are coming to their end, and Apple might not renew some of them; hence the games will soon be leaving the service. How soon? We expect these games to be available till September this year. The Apple Arcade was launched in September 2019.
The chances are that some of these games might still be available on the App Store. In that case, users will have to re-download the game but do not worry, as your progress will be saved, and you can continue where you left earlier.
