These Xiaomi smartphone users can now use Jio True 5G, but conditions apply

Xiaomi has entered into a partnership with Reliance Jio. As part of this partnership Xiaomi will offer ‘True 5G’ experience to users on some of its smartphones. The association will enable Xiaomi and Redmi smartphone users to access True 5G connectivity on their devices after they get an invite to use 5G from Jio. Reliance Jio launched 5G services under beta in October 2022 in 6 cities. Since then the company has expanded 5G services to 15-plus cities across the country. Andhra Pradesh is the latest state to get Jio 5G. Reliance Jio services are available on invite-only basis so far.
What Xiaomi phone users need to do to access Jio True 5G
– Users need to be in a 5G city or area
– To access 5G, users need to check for notification/alert in their MyJio app.
– To experience Jio 5G on their Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones, customers need to change the preferred network type to 5G.
– Users can access the Jio 5G service on their existing SIM cards and don’t need to get a new SIM.
– Also, Jio Ture 5G service is available on all the existing data plans priced above Rs 299 offered by Reliance Jio. So, you don’t have to buy a new plan.

Redmi Note 12 to launch in India next month
Recently, Xiaomi confirmed the launch of its Redmi Note 12 series of smartphones will launch in India on January 5, 2023. The Redmi Note 12 series will consist of three smartphones — Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 5G. Rumours suggest that Redmi Note 12 is said to be priced under Rs 15,000, whereas the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is tipped to be priced under Rs 29,000.
