This Google Assistant bug is affecting Pixel Buds Pro users – Times of India

Google’s answer to Apple AirPods Pro — the Pixel Buds Pro — was unveiled in India earlier this year. The Google Pixel Buds Pro are now available on Flipkart at Rs 17,890. Some users have recently reported that the Google Assistant on their earbuds is facing some issues. Most of them have complained that the command “Hey Google” which activates the voice assistant is not working properly (9to5Google spotted). These users reported having this issue on the Google Pixel Buds Pro Help page and Reddit. However, the issue doesn’t seem widespread and Google is yet to address it.

Pixel Buds Pro Google Assistant bug: Details
Most users have reported that the “Hey Google” command on their Pixel Buds Pro is automatically getting disabled. Others have shared a screenshot that shows a message saying “Voice Match is disabled because this device does not currently support the Assistant language selected.”
The only workaround is to manually change the Assistant settings to a supported language every time it gets changed. Users have mentioned that the bug is automatically changing the Assistant language. This bug triggers the error when the language is set to — US, UK or Australian English.

Users can also access the “Touch & hold” gestures on Pixel Buds Pro to use Google Assistant and won’t need “Hey Google” at all. However, that may result in losing Active Noise Control on at least one bud.
Some users have claimed that a recent Google app update might be causing this error which can be fixed with a server-side update.
