This is how Google will tell you which Android app is tracking what data of yours

Google is gearing up to bring in more transparency around how Android apps track and process your personal data. Developers are now required to provide more information about their app that is listed on Google Play store. As per Google, “Developers will be able to give users deeper insight into their privacy and security practices, as well as explain the data the app may collect and why — all before users install the app.”
There will be a new “Data privacy & security” section on the app listing page that will provide what kind of data a particular app collects like location, financial information, user activity, whether data can be deleted or not, how data is shared and more. It will also showcase information as to whether the app follows Families policy and has gone through an “independent security review” or not.

Users can expand through each of the pointers to know specific privacy details of each app. Google is expected to roll out the feature later this year or early next year. The company has also released new user data policies that make it mandatory for developers to reveal how personal data of users is processed.
Google in its official blog post said, “You must be transparent in how you handle user data (e.g., information collected from or about a user, including device information). That means disclosing your app’s access, collection, use, and sharing of the data, and limiting the use of the data to the purposes disclosed.”

Also, if any app handles personal or sensitive user data, then the developer will need to provide additional requirements in the “Personal and Sensitive Information” section. These Google Play requirements are in addition to any requirements prescribed by applicable privacy and data protection laws.
For example, for apps dealing with financial or payment information or government identification numbers, the developer has to make sure that the app “must never publicly disclose any personal or sensitive user data related to financial or payment activities or any government identification numbers.”
