The star of the smartwatch show
The report by Counterpoint Research suggests that it was the newly-launched Apple Watch Series 8 that propelled Apples’ year-over-year sales to grow 48%. In fact, in Q3 2022, the new Watch Series 8 “accounted for about 56% of the overall shipments”, says Counterpoint, indicating that every second smartwatch sold in the world was Apple Watch Series 8. In fact, Apple accounted for about half of the market among HLOS smartwatches in Q3 2022.
Apple Watch Series 8 is another solid smartwatch upgrade to come out of Apple Park in Cupertino. While Apple didn’t really make too many changes compared to the Watch Series 7, it did introduce a new body temperature sensor. Apple Watch Series 8 features new temperature-sensing capabilities that give women further insights into their health. Utilising the new temperature-sensing capabilities in Apple Watch Series 8, users can receive retrospective ovulation estimates. Knowing when ovulation has occurred can be helpful for family planning, and Apple Watch Series 8 makes it easy and convenient by providing these estimates in the Health app.
Apple Watch Series 8 comes in aluminum and stainless steel cases in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, and is compatible with all bands. Aluminum case colours for Apple Watch Series 8 include starlight, midnight, silver, and (PRODUCT)RED, while the stainless steel case offers silver, graphite, and gold.
