This may be world’s first smartphone with 200MP camera – Times of India

Motorola Frontier may be the first smartphone in the world to sport a 200MP camera. As per a report by SamMobile, images of the rumoured Motorola Frontier smartphone are in circulation on Chinese social media platform Weibo. In the images, it appears that Motorola’s upcoming flagship smartphone features a new 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor. The label on the camera module also reveals that the camera comes with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an f/.2.2 aperture.
For those who are unaware, Samsung unveiled the 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor last year. The sensor features a dynamic pixel binning technology that can adjust the output resolution based on the ambient light. Although the sensor is made by Samsung, it is not used in any of the flagship smartphones launched by the company. The report suggests that Samsung may use this camera for some of its devices in 2023.
Previously it was rumoured that the 200MP sensor will debut on a Xiaomi smartphone this year. However the report suggests that the company will be switching to Sony Exmor sensor.
