This new Apple TV bug is showing the ‘wrong’ storage capacity – Times of India

Apple started shipping the fourth generation Apple TV 4K streaming device last month. The W-Fi-only variant of the latest device that offers 64GB internal storage is available at Rs 14,900. Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi and Ethernet model is priced at Rs 16,900 and supports 128GB of internal storage. According to a report by MacRumors, a new bug on tvOS 16.1 is affecting the 128GB variant of Apple’s latest streaming device.
How is the issue affecting users
The 128GB storage variants are running out of memory (virtually) once a user has used up 64GB of its storage. A few other sources also confirmed similar issues with the latest Apple TV models.
Whenever users are trying to download a new app after the ‌Apple TV‌ reaches the 64GB storage mark, the device is showing them a message that says: “The app can’t be installed because there isn’t enough space. Delete one or more apps or manage your storage in Settings.”

As per the report, the bug hasn’t been patched in the latest beta version of tvOS 16.2. Until then, Apple TV users have to delete apps from the Storage settings to download new apps. Users can also try queueing the apps they want to download on the device and wait for the company to lift the artificial 64GB restriction on 128GB devices with an update.
Apple TV 4K (2022): Key details
