This photo shot on a 4-year-old iPhone has won iPhone photography award for 2021

The annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) have been announced. At this year’s awards, the first place Photographer of the Year award has been given to Sharan Shetty. Shetty, who hails from Pune, won the award for his image titled Bonding. The image captures a man and his horse commune in an empty landscape, offering each other comfort and soft words.

Thousands of photographers from all over the world submitted their entires. While Sharan won the first prize, the grand prize winner and photographer of the year award went to a photojournalist from Hungary.
IPPAWARDS is in its 14th year now and was started in 2007 and has become a regular thing. Just to make it clear, Apple doesn’t give out these awards.
To be eligible for the award, photos should not be published previously anywhere. However, posts on personal accounts (Facebook, Instagram etc.) are eligible. The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop. However, one can use any iOS apps for editing and image processing.
The use of any iPhone is permissible. iPhone add-on lenses can be used. In some cases, the photographer may be asked about the original image just to verify that it’s taken with an iPhone, iPad.
The categories in which photos can be submitted are: Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, Cityscape, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, People, Portrait, Series (3 images), Still Life, Sunset, Travel, Other.
This year top-three winners in an additional 17 categories were awarded to photographers from almost every corner of the world, including Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, China, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.
