This Samsung phone is first to get January 2022 security patch

Samsung has reportedly rolled out the January 2022 security patch to Galaxy A51. According to a report by Sammobile, the update is available for users in select markets for now. It is expected to bring the latest security patch to other countries as well.

The latest update brings software version A515FXXU5EUL3 to Samsung Galaxy A51. It is currently available for users in Malaysia and Russia. Along with Android security patch for the month of January, the update is said to come with general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

Those interested can check the update manually on their device. To do so, head to the Settings app on your Samsung Galaxy A51 and check for the updates availability under Software update. If available, tap on Download and install.

Samsung Galaxy A51 is a two-year old phone. It was launched in December 2019. It was also the most-selling Android phone of 2020.

The smartphone is powered by Exynos 9611 octa-core processor. The device houses a 4000mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 15 hours of internet usage time. Samsung Galaxy A51 is equipped with a 6.5-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with 1080x2400p resolution.

For imaging duties, the Galaxy A51 has a 32MP camera in a punch-hole design on the front and a quad-camera setup on the back that includes a 48MP (f/2.0 aperture) sensor, 12MP (f/2.2 aperture) sensor, 5MP (f/2.4 aperture) sensor, 5MP (f/2.2 aperture) sensor.

The smartphone offers dual-SIM support with a dedicated microSD card slot. Connectivity options on the handset include USB Type-C, 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth v5.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi.
