This Windows 11 feature is finally coming to Windows 10 – Times of India

When Microsoft announced Windows 11, the company confirmed that it will continue to support Windows 10 till at least 2025. Following that commitment, Microsoft has brought several new features including some that were primarily introduced on Windows 11. It seems that Windows 10 is getting another Windows 11 feature in the form of an updated Windows Media Player.
The new media player on Windows 10 will replace the existing Grove Music. The new music player is rolling out to Windows 10 users under the Release Preview Channel of the Windows Insider Program.
The new media player is now rolling out to Windows 10 users in Release Preview Channel. However, the new media players aren’t exactly the same version as found on Windows 11. As per the report, the media player rolling out on Windows 10 just looks like the Windows 11 player and it features a Windows Fluent design, but it is based on WinUI 3.0.
The new media player also has rounder corners similar to Windows 11 UI design. The media player looks almost similar to the Windows 11 version. It also supports dark mode and abides by Windows 10’s colour theme.

How you can get the new media player on Windows 10
To get the new media player first sign up for the Windows Insider program and enrol on Release Preview build. Now, download and install the preview build. Do note that the Windows 10 build required for the new media player is Windows 10 Build 19042. Once done, head to Microsoft Store and head to Library and check for updates.
The update will automatically replace the Groove Music app with the new Windows 11 media player. Also, it will transfer all the existing playlists. Alternatively, you can also download the package offline and run the .msixbundle.
