Total War: A Total War Saga: Troy to add three mythological beasts as allies – Times of India

A Total War Saga: Troy, Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive’s strategy game based on the Trojan War is getting an expansion pack called Mythos on September 2. The expansion pack will add monsters and other mythical creatures who can fight by your side. Troy Mythos comes to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Troy: Mythos will add three mythical beasts: Cerberus, the Griffin and the Hydra. Cerberus is the Hound of Hades, the god of Death. The creature has three heads but as per myth, these three are the visible ones; the Hound actually is a hundred-headed beast.
The ‘Revel in Death’ ability will make Cerberus more powerful as a battlefield becomes more chaotic. Its ‘Fires of Phlegethon’ power will unleash a large explosion straight from the river Phlegethon upon the enemies. Also, the Hound of Hades can summon the dead with its ‘Summon Shades’ ability, thus augmenting your ranks.
The Griffin
Griffins are animal kings with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion. With a Griffin as your ally, you can surprise and lay waste to enemy troops with the help of their power of flight, the wings that can also work as shields and create an “incredible wind”, that can destroy everything caught in its wake and also their screeches that will boost the morale of your troops.
The Hydra
The Hydra or the Lernean Hydra comes with the special abilities of regeneration, poisonous attacks that deal damage over time, Poison Bombs for area damage, the Poison Breath close-range attack and Virulent Blood, with the help of which The Hydra uses its own blood to infect the enemies and destroy their armour.
With these creatures by your side, you can make use of their special abilities in war and in Campaign and also recruit their monstrous units. The DLC will also add other mythical creatures like Centaurs, Harpies and Cyclops.
