Truecaller features: Truecaller announces three new features for Android users – Times of India

Popular app Truecaller has today announced a couple of new features for its Android users in the country.
The features — Group Voice Calling, Smart SMS and Inbox Cleaner — are all based on user feedback, according to the company.
Group Voice Calling
As the name suggests, this feature allows Truecaller users to talk to up 7 more participants over voice calls. The app will apparently help identify spam users in the group if they were added without the user’s knowledge.
This group calling feature on Truecaller will allow users to add new participants without adding them to their phonebook.
During a call, the app will reflect each participant’s city. Lastly, all group voice calls are secured with symmetric encryption.
Smart SMS
Truecaller says that almost 80% of texts that a user receives are from businesses, which is why it is important to filter them out.
Truecaller says that it will use the same powerful algorithms used to identify spam callers in SMS as well. This functionality can work offline too.
This feature is currently available only to users in India, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. It will soon be available in the US, Sweden, Malaysia, Indonesia and Egypt, said the company.
Inbox cleaner
This feature of the Truecaller app is meant to help users clean out unwanted messages fast.
The app will give a quick tap of Inbox cleaner from the menu to show how many old OTPs and spam messages users have accumulated and another tap on the ‘clean up’ button will quickly and effectively remove old messages.
