Twitter Blue annual subscription to cost less: New price and other details – Times of India

Twitter has now made available a yearly discount on its Blue subscription service, as per a new support page, reported first by The Verge. Users can now subscribe to Blue at $84 per year ($7 per month) and save $1 on the monthly subscription, which costs $8 a month. The same yearly plan is also available in other countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, that offer Twitter Blue.
Previously, Twitter users only had the option of subscribing to Blue for $8 per month through the web or $11 per month through iOS, which included Apple‘s 30% fee. Twitter Blue has been missing from the Android app. However, Android and iOS users can still sign up through the web, saving them $3.
So, compared to the iOS app, through which Blue costs $11 per month, which equals $132 a year. If a user subscribes to the yearly plan, which costs $86. The new annual subscription will save them 36% compared to subscribing directly through iOS.
Here’s what you get with Twitter Blue
Twitter Blue subscribers are privy to a variety of perks, such as a blue “verified” checkmark, the ability to undo and edit tweets, the option to customise app icons, themes, and navigation, the ability to bookmark tweets and more. Subscribers also have the capability to upload videos that are 60 minutes long.
No matter if someone is buying a monthly or annual subscription, the user must have a phone number linked to their account to be eligible for the blue checkmark. Also, subscribing to Blue does not guarantee the checkmark; it appears only after due diligence from Twitter’s end.
The annual subscription option comes amid recent reports of Twitter failing to pay rent on some of its office spaces. The company is facing a lawsuit for nonpayment in San Francisco, and apparently, most of the furniture from the office is up for auction. Meanwhile, around 500 advertisers have paused the spending, plunging the daily revenue to as low as 40 per cent.
