Twitter cyber security chief resigns amid mass layoffs, policy changes – Times of India

Tesla CEO Elon Musk successfully acquired Twitter in a $44 billion deal last month. Since his arrival, the company has seen mass layoffs along with multiple products and policy changes. Musk also fired some of the top executives of the company including CEO Parag Agrawal and announced large-scale layoffs that cut Twitter’s workforce in half. Now, another Twitter official has tweeted about leaving the company on the micro-blogging site.

Twitter cyber security chief resigns
Twitter’s information security chief Lea Kissner has shared a tweet to confirm his resignation from the company. In 2021, Kissner joined Twitter as the head of privacy engineering and was promoted to the chief information security officer post earlier this year.

Several other Twitter executives have also reportedly put down their papers. Citing sources and messages on the company’s internal channels, a TechCrunch report mentioned that Chief Privacy Officer Damien Kieran and Chief Compliance Officer Marianne Fogarty have also decided to leave Twitter.
As per the report, the recent resignations have also raised several concerns for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The US regulatory body is concerned that these departures will affect activity tracking on the micro-blogging platform and also wants to ensure that Twitter is sharing the proper information about the resignations and are following the existing frameworks.

After announcing the mass layoffs, ‘Chief Twit’ sent the first-ever company-wide email to the surviving employees. In this email, Musk announced that the company will end its permanent remote work policy and has asked the employees to prepare for a “dire” economy. The billionaire has also mentioned that Twitter needs to generate significant revenue to survive the economic downturn.
