Twitter gets a new look, font and more: All the details

Twitter has made some big changes in the way the platform will look on the web and on smartphones. In a series of tweets from the Twitter Design account, the social media platform revealed a new look, new font, colours and more.
“Today, we released a few changes to the way Twitter looks on the web and on your phone. While it might feel weird at first, these updates make us more accessible, unique, and focused on you and what you’re talking about,” said Twitter.

It was in January when Google had revealed its new font called Chip. The font has been rolled out starting today. If you are wondering what really is the big change then Twitter explains, “All Western-language text now aligns left, making it easier to read as you scroll. Non-Western languages remain unchanged.”
Further, Twitter has updated its colours to be a lot less blue and to be high contrast. It is “a change made to draw attention to the photos and videos you create and share.” Not only that, Twitter said that it is rolling out new colours soon to give users a fresh palette.
The buttons on the app — both smartphone and web — are high contrast as well. “Now the most important actions you can take stand out. Yes, the follow buttons look different, but they’ll help you see what actions you’ve taken at a glance,” Twitter Design team said in a tweet.
Lastly, Twitter said that there will be fewer gray backgrounds and unnecessary divider lines. There is also an increase in space to make text easier to read. The idea behind this is to clean the clutter.
The new look has been rolled out starting today and should be gradually visible to all Twitter users.
