Twitter will allow users to turn off the view count, says Elon Musk

Twitter started rolling out the new view count feature for its users. The new feature allows users to see the total number of views on a post. However, a couple of days after the rollout, Elon Musk confirmed that Twitter will make some changes to the view count feature. As a part of the announcement, it will allow users to turn off the view count if they want to.
Musk revealed this while replaying to a Twitter user on the platform’s new design. Musk’s reply reads, “We’ll tidy up the esthetics and add a setting to turn it off but I think almost everyone will grow to like it.”
For those who don’t the new view count feature started appearing to users a couple of days back. The feature shows users the view count for all tweets in a similar way we see views on YouTube videos. This feature earlier was only available for the account owners for their own tweets and that too via tweet analytics tool.
How to check views on Tweets
If you are looking to check out the number of views on the tweets posted by you, there’s a way for that. To do this, tap on your tweet and you will see a little graph with “View Tweet activity” written alongside it.
Here, you can check the total number of impressions which indicated the number of times that tweet has been viewed by some other users. Here you can also see other details like Profile visits that show the number of times your Twitter profile has been viewed from this tweet.
Additionally, it also has details like new followers that indicate the number of new followers you have received via this tweet. And, lastly, you can check Engagements details which signifies the number of times a user has interacted with the tweet.
