u-series: Intel announces P-series and U-series Intel 12th-generation mobile processors for thin and light laptops – Times of India

After announcing H-series 12th-generation Alder Lake chips at CES 2022, Intel has announced another line-up of 12th-generation chips that includes processors from P-series and U-series.
Both the U-series and P-series line-up is designed to power thinner, lighter and affordable laptops that are expected to launch in 2022. The P and U series processors are based on Intel’s performance hybrid architecture, which includes performance cores and efficiency cores.
According to the company, the processors will offer optimal multitasking performance by placing the workloads intelligently on the right core at the right time.
The company has announced around 20 chips spread across the P series and U series 15W and 9W. Here’s list of all the processors:

Intel 12th-generation P and U series processors: Details
The Intel 12th-generation Alder Lake P and U series processors are based on the company’s 7nm processor, like the more powerful H series processors. The processors are based on hybrid architecture to maximise both power and battery life.
The latest generation Intel processors come with up to 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores), which is a lot more than the 11th-generation processors. Apart from that, the processor also comes with Intel Iris Xe graphics with up to 96EU.
The 12th-generation P and U series processors support DDR5/LPDDR4 and DDR4/LPDDR4 memory.
Apart from improving the core count in its processors, Intel is claiming up to 70% faster multi-thread performance, twice as much 3D rendering, up to 30% faster photo editing.
Apart from that, the processors support Wi-Fi 6E for improved wireless connectivity, Thunderbolt 4 support and more.
