Ubisoft to reveal updates on multiple games on September 10 – Times of India
French video game developer and publisher Ubisoft is known for iconic video game franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon titles, etc. The game studio is going to unveil fresh details about its upcoming games during the Ubisoft Forward event on September 10 at 12:00 PM PT, which, in IST, would be September 11 12.30 AM.
As per a website post by the company spokesperson Youssef Maguid, “Ubisoft Forward returns in full force, ready to reveal updates and news on multiple games and projects from Ubisoft teams around the world. Ubisoft Forward will broadcast on YouTube, Twitch, and on our official website.”
One of the major announcements that could be made during the event is regarding development status and release windows for the next Assassin’s Creed titles. There are two Assassin’s Creed games in development of which one was announced almost a year back. Codenamed “Infinity”, it will be an online service-based game.
With Infinity, Ubisoft may be looking to bring a fresh perspective, or rather a combined perspective when it comes to the Assassin’s Creed series, with the difference being that while the earlier games have been standalone titles set in different historical periods, Infinity is said to feature multiple connected settings that could look and play differently, with the freedom to add more historical settings over time. As such, it feels like a huge Assassin’s Creed universe is about to be offered to the players in the form of a single, online game. To build an Assassin’s Creed adventure of this scale, Ubisoft has also brought on several studios to collaborate on the title.
The other Assassin’s Creed game in the making is a standalone adventure codenamed Rift. As per earlier reports, the studio was going to build Rift as an expansion to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with the character of Basim Ibn Ishaq from Valhalla.
We might hear something about the Prince of Persia remake too. But before that, Ubisoft will host a broadcast for Skull and Bones, its upcoming open-world pirate simulator, on July 7 2 PM ET (11.30 PM IST).
