Virgin Media and BT broadband customers could be tempted by these Community Fibre deals

If you’re based in the capital then you may want to ditch your Virgin Media or BT broadband plan for a Community Fibre package. The internet service provider (ISP) says it’s London’s fastest network, offering lightning fast download speeds of up to 3Gbps. Community Fibre operates in 23 London boroughs, so if you’re outside of the big smoke you’ll unfortunately miss out.

But if you are a Londoner you’ll be able to take advantage of some amazing money saving deals right now. Community Fibre’s newly launched full fibre broadband packages start from just £20 per month for 75Mbps.

As a comparison, BT’s Fibre Essential plan costs more (£24.99 a month) and offers slower download speeds (35Mbps to 36Mbps). While Virgin Media’s M50 Fibre Broadband plan, which offers an average download speed of 54Mbps, costs £38 a month.

The Community Fibre 75Mbps plan runs for 24 months and then costs £27.50 a month after that. The plan also includes a free Linksys Velop dual-band mesh router. But the most eye-catching saving can be found on the superfast 1Gbps plan. This offers whopping average download speeds of 920Mbps. And this plan costs £45 a month for 24 months, followed by £54 a month after that.

As a comparison, Virgin Media’s Gigabit broadband service (which boasts average download speeds of 1,130Mbps) costs £62 a month for 18 months, or £64 a month for broadband and a landline. While BT’s Fibre 900 plan, which offers average download speeds of 900Mbps, once again costs more than Community Fibre – with this plan priced at £59.99 a month.

Speaking about why customers should choose Community Fibre on its website, the ISP said: “We are London’s fastest network.

“The fastest fibre broadband: we are London’s fastest network with speeds up to 3Gbps.

“Our own network: we build, operate and own our dedicated full fibre optic network.

“Same speed downloads & uploads: ideal for gaming and video calls.”
