Vivo introduced its latest Android-based mobile OS named OriginOS in 2020 to succeed it’s old FuntouchOS. Gizmochina reports that the Chinese smartphone maker has revealed that it will introduce the upcoming major Android 12-based OriginOS update in December 2021. It has also started an internal beta testing program for the same.
The reports also adds that Vivo has not only revealed the launch date of the upcoming OS, but has also revealed the name of the same — OriginOS Ocean. The company has also shared a short cinematic video to reveal that it will introduce the OriginOS Ocean on December 9 at 7 PM (local time).
Vivo has also revealed that it has already initiated recruiting “internal beta experience officers” other than revealing the name and date of the next OriginOS update. The company has also announced that clients can enroll for the internal beta testing program for OriginOS Ocean from iQOO’s community forum and Vivo’s official website, which will start at 7 PM (local China time) on December 29, 2021.
The internal beta testing program for OriginOS Ocean is exclusively available for Chinese users and customers from other markets might have to wait for a while before getting this update. Vivo is expected to announce an official list òf the devices that will be eligible for this update. The report adds that the Vivo X60, Vivo X70 and a few S series devices will be eligible for the closed beta.
