The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed the launch of two premium smartphones under the Vivo X80 series in India. Both Vivo X80 and X80 Pro 5G handsets will be unveiled today (May 18) in India at a virtual event scheduled for 12 pm. The launch event will be live-streamed on the company’s official website and official YouTube channel. Both smartphones were launched in China a month ago and now these devices are making their way into the Indian market. These new handsets are set to take on other smartphones like — Realme GT2 Pro, iQoo 9 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro and even the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. The Vivo X80 and the X80 Pro smartphones are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

Vivo has not shared any details about the pricing of these devices, which will be revealed after the launch event. The smartphone is expected to sport a triple rear camera setup that might include — a 50MP primary Samsung ISOCELL GNV camera, a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultra-wide lens and an 8MP periscope sensor. The Pro variant will also come with a V1+ image chip for enhanced camera performance. The company has partnered with Carl Zeiss for the Pro version.
