Vivo has changed a lot in terms of the design aesthetics for its new X-series smartphones.
The company has made some major visual changes to the design of the Vivo X80 Pro as compared to the Vivo X70 Pro. The smartphone sports a curved edge display and the same old flat frame design from the back. The dual SIM slot is placed at the bottom part of the phone along with the USB Type C charging port and speaker output. The SIM card tray can hold two SIM cards and the smartphone does not allow you to install a microSD card. The power button and volume rockers are located on the right. Vivo X80 Pro features a quad-rear camera which is placed inside a big rectangular module which covers 1/4th part of the rear panel. Available in Cosmic Black colour option, Vivo X80 Pro has a sleek and stylish design.
Display
Vivo X80 Pro features a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ display with 1440×3200 pixel resolution. The display comes with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The smartphone offers a bright and dynamic display with a smooth scrolling experience. The variable refresh rate of the smartphone gives a smooth user experience and it also helps in reducing the battery consumption. The smartphone display comes with wide viewing angles and the apt colour reproduction enables users to enjoy long binge-watching sessions. The display also offers various colour profiles which allow users to customise the display as per their needs.
Hardware and software
Vivo X80 Pro is powered by Android’s most-powerful processor — Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The smartphone packs 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone does not come with microSD card support. During our initial testing, the smartphone performed well without any glitches. We also had a smooth gaming and multitasking experience on the Vivo X80 Pro.
Apart from a powerful processor, the Vivo X80 Pro also offers support for fast and wireless charging. The smartphone is backed by a 4700mAh battery and it comes with 80W fast charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging support. We are yet to test the battery backup and charging speed of the smartphone. For the complete battery analysis, you will have to wait for our complete review. The dual SIM smartphone comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and sports a quad rear camera setup.
Vivo X80 Pro runs the Android 12 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of FunTouch OS 12. Along with a clean user interface, the smartphone also offers all the features of Android 12.
Camera
Like its predecessor, Vivo X80 Pro also comes with a Zeiss Optics camera. The smartphone is home to a quad-rear camera, which comprises of 50MP main camera with f/1.57 aperture, LED flash, OIS, 48MP ultra-wide camera with IMX598 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 12MP 50mm 2X portrait camera with IMX663 sensor, f/1.85 aperture, gimbal, 8MP periscope camera. The front is home to a 32MP selfie shooter with an f/2.45 aperture. The smartphone also packs Vivo’s custom made V1+ chipset which promises to deliver an elevated experience to users with a built-in AI system. The smartphone camera promises to offer well-lit shots in low light. The images captured turned out to be bright and beautiful.
