Vivo X80 series key specifications leaked online ahead of rumoured launch in China – Times of India
Vivo may release the successor to the Vivo X70 series that was launched in September 2021. According to GizmoChina, the Vivo X80 series may launch in China by the end of April. Similar to the Vivo X70 series, the company may also offer the Vivo X80 to the Indian market soon after the domestic launch. However, it is important to note that Vivo has not announced any official confirmation regarding the X80 series. Reports suggest that the key specifications of the Vivo X80 smartphones have been leaked online and are very similar to what the TENAA listing had suggested. The reports also claim that the company may launch only two phones this year in this series — Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro.
Vivo X80 series expected specs
As per the reports, the Vivo X80 is likely to sport a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED screen that will run on Full HD+ resolution and may also support a 120Hz refresh rate. There is no information available about the display supporting HDR 10+ certification only on the Pro version. Moreover, the Vivo X80 is said to feature a punch-hole display design where the cut-out for the selfie camera could be placed in the centre of the upper side of the screen.
The Vivo X80 may come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor which also runs another recently released flagship phone — the Oppo Find X5 Pro. The upcoming phone is also expected to be equipped with X-axis linear motor to offer better haptics feedback and may also have a 4,000mm square VC chamber for heat dissipation.
The handset is likely to house a triple rear camera setup that will include — a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor, a 13MP secondary camera and a 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor. The smartphone may feature a 44MP front shooter for selfies and video calls. The report suggests that both the devices are likely to offer a 4700mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
Meanwhile, the Vivo X80 Pro is also expected to sport the same display but might support a QHD+ resolution. For biometric authentication, the Pro model may also feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
The more expensive Pro variant is also said to come with a quad rear camera setup that will include — a 50MP Samsung GN1 primary sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP portrait camera with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x zoom and OIS support.
