Vivo X90 series launched in China, top variant features Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC | Digit
After months of speculations and hype, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has unveiled the Vivo X90 series. As reported earlier, the series consists of three smartphones: the vanilla Vivo X90, Vivo X90 Pro, and the Vivo X90 Pro+. Although all the models of the camera-centric series feature Zeiss branding, only one model features a Snapdragon chipset, while the others run on a Dimensity SoC. Here is everything we know about the new Vivo smartphones, their specifications, and how much they cost.
Vivo X90 specifications and price
Out of the box, the Vivo X90 flaunts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC based on 4nm fabrication technology. In China, the smartphone is available in four storage models, including 8/128GB, 8/256GB, 12/256GB, and 12/512GB. Additionally, customers can choose from three colours: Black, China Red and Ice Blue.
As far as cameras are concerned, the Vivo X90 has a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP portrait camera for 2x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, there is a centrally-located 32MP selfie shooter. Talking about the smartphone’s battery, it has a maximum capacity of 4,810 mAh battery that supports up to 120W fast-wired charging via a Type-C port. With an in-display fingerprint scanner, the smartphone supports Bluetooth v5.3 and Wi-Fi 6.
The base model of the Vivo X90, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, costs CNY 3,699, roughly equivalent to Rs. 42,000. The 8/256GB variant costs CNY 3,999, equivalent to Rs. 45,000. The top model of the lineup costs CNY 4,999, equal to Rs. 57,000.
Vivo X90 Pro specifications and price
The Vivo X90 Pro has the same display, processor and battery as the Vivo X90. Although, the Vivo X90 Pro does have a different camera system. The model has a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera on the rear panel.
The Vivo X90 Pro comes in three storage models, including the 8/256GB variant that costs CNY 4,999, equivalent to Rs. 57,000. Then there is the 12/256GB variant which costs CNY 5,499, or about Rs. 62,000. Last but not least, the 12/512GB variant costs about Rs. 68,000. Additionally, the smartphone comes in two colours: Original Black and China Red.
Vivo X90 Pro+ specifications and price
The top-of-the-line Vivo X90 Pro+ comes with a 6.78-inch LTPO4 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It has a slightly higher pixel resolution than the other two models in the series. Under the hood, Vivo X90 Pro+ is the first smartphone to come with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Vivo X90 Pro+ also features a quad-rear camera system. The camera system contains a 50.3MP primary sensor, a 64MP pericope lens with up to 3.5x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto lens with up to 2x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, the smartphone has the same 32MP sensor as the Vivo X90 and the Vivo X90 Pro.
Additionally, the Vivo X90 Pro+ has a 4,700 mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging. The slower charging rate would ensure that the processor does not overheat. The Vivo X90 Pro+ is only available in two storage models: 12/256GB for CNY 6,499 (equivalent to Rs. 74,000) and 12/512GB for CNY 6,999 (equal to Rs. 80,000). Although the Vivo X90 series is not available in India, the company should launch it in the country soon.
