Vivo Y01A receives BIS Certification, may launch soon in India – Times of India

Vivo recently launched the Y01 smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset for the Indian market. The device was introduced in the country at an affordable price range. The Chinese phone maker is planning to expand this budget series in India by adding another new handset to the lineup — the Vivo Y01A. According to a report by GizmoChina, the upcoming budget smartphone has been approved by the BIS certification website and is set to launch soon in the country. The BIS listing doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming phone, however, the report has mentioned some speculated specifications that are expected to be included with the handset.

The report mentions that Vivo Y01A is expected to launch soon. However, this device can reach other markets before it arrives in India. For reference, the Y01 handset is available on the Amazon e-commerce website at Rs 8,499.

As per the report, the Vivo Y01A smartphone is expected to sport a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a plastic-made rear panel.
Alike the already available Y01 device, the upcoming smartphone will also feature the same MediaTek Helio P35 processor, backed with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Y01A is also speculated to support up to 1GB of Virtual RAM expansion.
The upcoming device is expected to house a single 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter for selfies and video calls. The Y01A is likely to boot Android 11 (Go Edition) OS.
