Vodafone-Idea users, company may have good news on 5G services for you – Times of India

Vodafone-Idea users, the company may have some 5G update for you. It reportedly seems that Vodafone is set to join the 5G bandwagon. The company has started testing its 5G services in the national capital. This was reportedly revealed by a Vodafone customer care representative on Twitter, as per a report in Telecom Talk. So far, there is no official confirmation from the company on the same. Times of India has reached out to Vodafone-Idea for comments, but so far have not received a response.
The tweet on 5G on Vodafone reportedly came in response to a tweet from a Twitter user going by the ID @ZubairKh88. The story shares the screenshot of the same. As per the screenshot, Twitter user asked for an update on the 5G roll out. To this, the Vodafone customer care executive replied, “Hi Zubair! I am here to assist you. I would like to inform you that currently, Delhi is the only city where 5G is available. Vi is actively working with its partners to bring 5G to multiple cities. For any further assistance, please write back to us.” However, it seems the company deleted the response as we are not able to see the reply now.

Last year, speaking at the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022, Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman, Aditya Birla Group (a promoter company of telco Vodafone Idea along with UK’s Vodafone Group) said that Vodafone Idea will soon begin its 5G rollout journey.
“We have 240 million citizens connected to our networks, with 50% of them in rural India. Our networks have been constantly upgraded to be capable of smooth and swift migration to 5G,”, Birla said. “Having taken concrete steps for the 5G ecosystem development, 5G use cases for Indian enterprises and consumers, and acquisition of 5G spectrum in a very well designed auction, we will soon begin the 5G rollout journey,” he added.
Birla, however, had not given a timeline of the 5G services rollout. He said that Vi had a plan of action in place, and is working towards its goal of rolling out 5G services in the country. “We will leverage our strong presence in rural India, our enterprise customers, our technology partners, and global experience of the Vodafone Group for progressively rolling out our 5G networks and services in the coming period,” he said.
