Watch: Tesla CEO and ‘Chief Twit’ Elon Musk visits Twitter office with a sink

Billionaire Elon Musk has changed his Twitter bio to ‘Chief Twit’. The change comes days ahead of a court-ordered deadline to close his $44 billion deal for the social media platform. Musk also shared a video on Twitter of his entering Twitter Inc’s San Francisco office. Tesla CEO walked the halls of the office carrying a sink. He shared the video on Twitter with the caption: “Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!”

He updated his Twitter profile’s bio to “Chief Twit” just hours ahead of the visit. It is not clear whether Musk met with anyone at Twitter headquarters. As the video just shows him walking around.
Deadline for the on-again, off-again $44 billion deal is October 28
Musk is supposed to be working with the company to complete the $44 billion buyout offer. The deal must be sealed by Friday (October 28), or he will will face trial over the contract. Musk had made an unsolicited offer to buy Twitter, and inked a deal in April — but then sought to terminate the sale. Twitter filed a lawsuit to hold him to it.
With a trial looming, Musk revived his takeover plan on the condition that legal proceedings were put on hold. Musk said in July that he was canceling the deal because he was misled by Twitter over the number of fake “bot” accounts. These allegations have been rejected by the company.
“I’m excited about the Twitter situation,” Musk said during a recent Tesla earnings call. “I think it’s an asset that has just sort of languished for a long time but has incredible potential, although obviously myself and the other investors are overpaying for Twitter right now.”
