We just got our best look yet at the Huawei P50 Pocket
TL;DR
- A fashion outlet has published several photos showing the Huawei P50 Pocket.
- The images show a phone with a circular external display and camera housing.
Huawei confirmed that the P50 Pocket would be announced on December 23, later releasing teaser images that confirmed this would be a clamshell foldable like the Galaxy Z Flip range. We’ve got a much better look at the phone today though, courtesy of a fashion publication.
Harper’s Bazaar China posted a series of photos showing the Huawei P50 Pocket on its Weibo account today, giving us a great look at the folded device. We get a peek at the rear camera housing (confirming previous leaks), external display, and how this screen can be used for selfies when folded. It’s also worth noting the gold colorway, which differs from the white color scheme in previous teases. Check out the images below (as well as the picture at the top of the page).
The pictures also give us a good idea of the phone’s size when folded, while the main image at the top suggests a power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner too. Otherwise, we still don’t get a look at the foldable screen itself.
There’s no word on specs just yet, but we’re expecting a Kirin 9000 or Snapdragon 888 4G SoC as well as a smaller battery than traditional flagship phones. Here’s hoping Huawei’s device matches up well to the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s $999 price tag, although the fashion focus suggests the company could charge a premium for the design.
In any event, all should be revealed next week. So expect a full rundown of specs, pricing, and availability on December 23.
