WhatsApp brings account ban review feature for Android beta users – Times of India
Facebook-owned platform WhatsApp introduced a ban review feature for iOS beta users a month ago. The messaging app is now working on a similar feature for Android users. WaBetaInfo, the platform which keeps track of upcoming features of WhatsApp, has spotted the features in WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.21.18.5 update.
Presently, if your WhatsApp account is banned, then you will have to contact WhatsApp via their support page. With the upcoming feature, it will be easier to get the account unbanned right from the app.
What is WhatsApp’s ban review feature?
The feature allows users to send a report directly to WhatsApp and ask to review its case if his/her WhatsApp account is getting banned. The feature will be built-in within the app, which means users will be able to ask for review right from the app’s interface.
WaBetaInfo, in its latest report, has shared screenshots of how the feature will look like. In case a user’s account is banned, he/she will see the ‘Request a Review’ option from the app, including details about the situation.
WhatsApp support will review the report, including the account activity to verify if something is wrong. Once the review is completed, WhatsApp will restore the account if they find that the system has wrongly flagged it. However, “they won’t unban your account if you have really violated their Terms of Service”, the report says.
When will the feature be available?
As per the WaBetaInfo report, the feature is currently under development and will be available via a future update. Since it was first spotted for iOS users a month ago, it is likely that the feature could first be made available to iPhone users.
