whatsapp call: WhatsApp is adding this new voice messaging feature – Times of India

Facebook owned online chatting app WhatsApp is getting a new feature for voice messaging that will let you speed up the voice messages playback. With the help of this feature, users can play voice messages 1x, 1.5x or even 2x faster, as per WhatsApp. The feature has started rolling out in India also and has arrived already on many smartphones already with the new WhatsApp update.

To check how this feature works, you need to send or receive a voice message over WhatsApp. Once the message has been received or sent, both the sides will be able to see and change the playback speed options among 1x, 1.5x and 2x. The idea is to speed up what someone is saying, especially if the voice message is a long one. On the other hand, this might lead to some messages sounding funny. You can switch back and forth between the playback speeds, in case the message starts going too fast for you.
One other feature that’s coming to WhatsApp is the multi-device support. With this, users would be able to install the app on up to four devices registered under one account. The latest development that has come to light has been spotted in the beta version of the app — version 2.20.152 — by WABetaInfo. As per WABetaInfo, even though it doesn’t mention that users will be able to connect another phone to their WhatsApp account, this will be the case and will “probably [be] updated in future.” Once the multi-device feature is rolled out and activated, all the devices that are logged in with that account will receive a message. Further, all the previous actions such as starring a message, archiving of chats will also be in sync across all devices.
