WhatsApp for Android tablets is changing: Here’s everything you need to know about it
WhatsApp for tablets: What has changed and how it is different from previous versions
Android tablet users have always been able to download the WhatsApp app from Google Play Store and configure it with their phone number and use it. However, to do that, they either needed a different phone number or logout from their smartphone and then login into the tablet, which is a lot more complicated than it sounds in the case of WhatsApp.
With the version that WhatsApp is currently testing, the company has added a new option to sign into the app. What this means is users will now see a new ‘WhatsApp Web’ or desktop app-like login screen with a QR code and users can now log in using the Link devices option within their smartphone’s WhatsApp.
Don’t fret, WhatsApp has retained that older login option under the ellipsis menu at the top right corner. So, if in case someone wants to set up fresh on their Android Tablet, the option — Setup new account is still there.
