WhatsApp introduces ‘search for messages by date’ feature for iOS beta testers – Times of India

Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp keeps on updating the popular platform with new features to enhance the user experience. The app has recently rolled out the ‘search for messages by date’ feature. The new WhatsApp feature is currently available for iOS beta testers.
Search for messages by date feature: Availability
According to reports by WABetaInfo, some beta testers can now finally use this feature in their chats and groups after the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.24.0.77 update was made available on the TestFlight app.
Search for messages by date feature: How does it work
The new WhatsApp feature will make it easier for users to navigate to a certain date within a chat. As per the shared screenshot, users will be able to use the search feature within a conversation if a calendar icon appears in the chat box. It implies that the feature is enabled for their WhatsApp account, the report added.

In addition to being able to jump to the first message in a conversation, users can jump to a date to see which messages have been exchanged inside that conversation. Since the new feature is only available to some WhatsApp iOS beta testers, the calendar icon will not appear for everyone.
Further, the report stated that the search for messages by date feature has been made available to a select group of iOS beta testers who installed the latest beta version of the TestFlight app. This feature will gradually be made available to more users over the next few weeks.
WhatsApp recent updates
The popular messaging app has recently rolled out several other features for Android, iOS, and desktop users, including Communities, Message Yourself, and in-chat Polls. In addition to this, WhatsApp has been testing the tablet version of the messaging app with some beta testers on Android. The company recently made the WhatsApp for Tablet beta available to more users worldwide.
