WhatsApp is testing this new feature with Android beta users – Times of India
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s new ‘document caption’ feature is being rolled out with the Google Play Beta update version 2.22.22.7. The report also includes screenshots that reveal how this feature (which is now available only for Android beta testers) will work.
WhatsApp ‘document caption’ feature on Android beta: How it works
As per the report, this new feature will allow users to include a caption while sharing documents. Android users will be able to find a “caption bar” which they can use to attach a caption to any document. The caption bar is expected to appear whenever users try to select a document.
This feature can be helpful as documents that come with a caption are easier to search and find. Currently, this feature is available only for a select number of beta testers and Meta is expected to bring the feature to more Android beta users.
Other recently released WhatsApp features
As mentioned above, WhatsApp recently started testing an optional Premium subscription for business accounts which is meant to help customers reach businesses easily. This new subscription plan is available for both Android and iOS beta users.
By joining the WhatsApp Premium plan, businesses will be able to link up to 10 devices. Moreover, users can also unsubscribe from the plan according to their discretion. This feature is expected to roll out for all business accounts soon.
Apart from this, WhatsApp is also testing another feature that will prevent users from taking “screenshots” of view-once images and videos. This feature is currently being tested for iOS beta users.
