WhatsApp is working on these new features – Times of India
WhatsApp is said to be working on a new Avatars feature. With this new feature in place users may soon be able to use an avatar as a mask when making video calls. Along with this, users will also be able to use an avatar as a sticker.
According to WABetaInfo, the users will see a new section with a header image at the top.
The report also adds that users will also be able to change their avatar so that it can be used as a sticker and also share it with your contacts.
Along with this, WhatsApp is also working on the feature which will allow users to hide their online status. With this new functionality in place, users will be able to select who can see when they are online on WhatsApp.
The screenshot shared by WABetaInfo reveals that WhatsApp is speculated to include a new option called “Last Seen and Online” under Privacy Settings > Last Seen. Users will be able to choose between “same as last seen” or “everyone” and can control who can see when they are online. The ‘same as last seen’ option will copy the same setting of the last seen section.
Recently, WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart advised users not to use fake or modified versions of WhatsApp. “Reminder to @WhatsApp users that downloading a fake or modified version of WhatsApp is never a good idea. These apps sound harmless but they may work around WhatsApp privacy and security guarantees,” he says in a tweet. The tweet is followed by a thread of tweets that warns users about an Android app called ‘Hey WhatsApp’. The app with malware hidden inside has been discovered by the company’s researchers.
