What’s different about the new WhatsApp for Windows?
Earlier, on Windows, users had to download the web-based version of WhatsApp. Or they had to use WhatsApp via their internet browsers. WhatsApp has now launched a native app for Windows, which according to Meta, makes it faster and more responsive. In a blog post, WhatsApp said that the new app brings increased reliability and speed. Further, it has been optimised and designed for the Windows operating system.
The biggest change, however, is that users can continue to receive notifications and messages even when their phone is offline.

The new app is already available on the Microsoft App Store on Windows. Users can head to the app store and download it.
How to use WhatsApp’s new app on Windows?
The process to use the app hasn’t changed. If, in case, you aren’t familiar with the process, here’s how you can use it.
Once downloaded and installed, to log in:
  1. Open WhatsApp on your phone.
  2. Tap More options or the three-dots icon on Android or Settings on iPhone.
  3. Tap Linked Devices.
  4. Point your phone camera to the QR code that appears on your WhatsApp Desktop App.

Will Mac users be getting a new app for WhatsApp?
Yes. WhatsApp has confirmed that it is working on a new native app for Mac users as well. “WhatsApp desktop app native to Mac operating systems is currently in development,” noted Meta in a blog post.
