WhatsApp new feature under testing: Send a message to yourself on WhatsApp

The ability to send a message to yourself is one of the features that is missing in the multi-device system. So WhatsApp is now developing a solution and will roll out the feature in the future updates of the WhatsApp Desktop beta, besides Android and iOS versions.

How will the new feature work?

The report clarified that whenever users will attempt to log into their WhatsApp accounts from a mobile device, they will be able to see their own names at the top of the contact list. Although, further support for an additional mobile is not yet supported by WhatsApp in the multi-device arrangement but the app is working on developing it. And as mentioned above, apart from the desktop beta version, the feature will be made available to the Android and iOS beta versions as well.

Thus, it means that if one uses WhatsApp on a laptop or computer, his name will pop up in the list of conversations. The report stated that this feature, which is in testing mode right now, will be aired in a few days.

This feature will solve the issues users face when they want to note down things that are important, urgent, or even casual, as a reminder but they tend to write that information on WhatsApp itself instead of using any notepad apps or inbuilt notes. This is because of the constant use of the messaging app which makes it easier for users to remember things. So now the app will in future enable them to text themselves only. Notably, WhatsApp is working on many other interesting features as well in order to improve its user experience.
