WhatsApp ‘Recent groups’ feature coming soon: Here’s what it will offer

WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature – ‘Recent groups’ — which allows users to search groups by entering the name of the contact. As of now, the feature is available on the desktop version.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the feature has reportedly started rolling out to a few users after installing the WhatsApp desktop update.
With this feature, users will be able to get a list of all the recent groups in common with a contact by entering their name within the search bar. It will be beneficial for users who have joined many groups and do not remember the name of the group.

In addition to rolling out WhatsApp Communities, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform has recently rolled out three new features. The features had been in beta versions for a while and now have been rolled out to all users. Here are all the details about three new features which will be rolled out in a phased manner.
Add up to 1024 members in a group
WhatsApp Groups can now have 1024 members. Earlier, WhatsApp allowed only 256 members in a group. However, this year the limit was increased to 512 and now it has been doubled to 1024.
32 members in a WhatsApp video call
Earlier in September, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature called Call Links, a feature that Google Meet, Zoom and others have. Previously, the Meta CEO said that the company was testing the feature to have 32 members in a WhatsApp video call. Now, the feature has been rolled out to all users.
Create in-chat polls
WhatsApp users in groups can create polls on a specific topic and it won’t be limited to group admins. Users will have the option to add 12 options in a poll. Just like other poll features on other platforms, users will be able to see the poll results after tapping on the view votes option.
