WhatsApp reportedly rolls out image blur tool for desktop beta users – Times of India

Popular messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new image blurring feature. Available for WhatsApp Desktop Beta users, the new feature will enable users to quickly censure sensitive information from their images in a neat way.
As reported by WABetaInfo, the Twitter account which keeps track of the changes in WhatsApp build has revealed the Meta-owned messaging app has rolled out an image blur tool for WhatsApp Desktop beta users. The report adds that WhatsApp has developed two blur tools so you can also edit your images by using an alternate blur effect. In addition, you can choose the blur size to apply the effect with granular precision.
As mentioned above the image blur feature is available only for the beta users and the company is soon expected to roll out the feature for everyone.
Recently, it was reported that WhatsApp is working on a feature that will automatically mute large groups after the number of participants reaches a specific limit. As per a report by WABetaInfo, the feature is under development, hence, it is not available for beta testers. But there is a preview available showing how it will work if rolled out in the future.
A screenshot shared by the WhatsApp features tester shows that when a group has more than 256 participants, users will be shown a message informing them that the group “was automatically muted to help reduce notifications.” It also says that users have the option to unmute the group if they want to.
