WhatsApp starts rolling out ‘hands-free’ video recording support to iOS beta – Times of India
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out an update to its iOS beta version that will allow users to record videos ‘hands-free’ on iOS devices. The feature is currently under beta testing and is expected to be rolled out soon. The update is rolling out through the Test Flight beta program and carries version 2.23.3.74 giving users the ability to shoot hands-free videos on iOS.
Presently, WhatsApp users need to ‘hold for video’ and ‘tap for photo’. This means that to make videos using WhatsApp camera, users need to constantly keep holding the tap button. With the new feature, this will change. Users will no longer have to keep the tap button pressed to make a video. They can now switch to video mode with just a tap. Once they are in video mode, they just need to press the button to start video recording and end once it has been recorded. Further, users can also switch from front to back camera or vice versa while recording, making it easier to record videos in any situation.
WhatsApp starts rolling out longer group subjects, descriptions on iOS beta
WhatsApp is rolling out another update to its iOS beta that will allow users to set longer group subjects and descriptions. This new feature will enable users to communicate more information about the group, such as its purpose, rules, topics of discussion and much more. However, the update was earlier rolled out for the Android beta testers through the Google Play Store program.
