WhatsApp to soon give you more options to ‘express yourself’ – Times of India

NEW DELHI: WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new messaging feature called Message Reactions. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a Message Reaction feature that will enable users to react to a text using an emoji. This is something similar to the Reactions feature that users get on other platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Apple iMessage and Google Messages.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature will be available in an upcoming update for the beta testers. As per screenshots shared in the report, users will have to update their app to use the reactions feature. If a user reacts to a particular message and the other person is using an older version of the app, then he/she will receive a message asking them to update the app.
WhatsApp introduced a beta program for WhatsApp Web
Recently, WhatsApp introduced a beta program for WhatsApp Web. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is launching a public beta program for WhatsApp Web. This means that WhatsApp Web users will now be able to test the new features coming to the app. The beta program is available for both Windows and macOS users.
When you install WhatsApp for Desktop beta the first time, you are officially a beta tester and you will receive all beta updates automatically, so you do not need to manually install the executable every time there is a new update.
Presently, the most updated beta version of WhatsApp Web 2.2133.1. WABetaInfo also suggests that the desktop version of the app periodically receives updates for the beta channel.
