WINDOWS 11 – WHAT LAPTOPS CAN RUN WINDOWS 11?

Windows 11 is a feature-rich update that brings with it plenty of exciting improvements and tools.

But there could be plenty of existing Windows 10 users that will miss out on the Windows 11 update, due to the minimum specs.

Previously Microsoft said Windows 11 would require at least an 8th gen Intel chip or an AMD Ryzen 2000.

Chips or motherboards also needed to support TPM 2.0.

TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) provides improved security for hardware, and has been included on many devices released in the past few years.

These high minimum specs meant plenty of Windows 10 users could miss out on the Windows 11 update, however over the summer Microsoft announced they wouldn’t block the update from most older PCs.

To double check if your current device can run Windows 11, you can download Microsoft’s PC Health Check App – which will let you know if your device can install and run the OS update.

Alternatively, if you’re thinking of getting a new laptop then you have plenty of options.

Online retailers such as John Lewis, Amazon and Argos all have dedicated sections where they list Windows 11 ready laptops.

While manufacturers like Dell also have sections on their websites for Windows 11 Ready laptops.

You can also find below a list of laptops that should be able to run Windows 11, according to a post by Tom’s Guide.
