Windows 11: Windows 11: What to expect in terms of looks, features and more – Times of India

Later this week, Microsoft will officially unveil the next big update for Windows. The tech giant has scheduled an event for June 24 but ahead of its launch, a version of Windows has been leaked. A lot of prominent tech websites have done a “hands-on” of the Windows 11, which tells us what users can expect. Though the leaked version is available for download from a few sketchy websites, we wouldn’t recommend downloading it. Meanwhile, based on the leaked version of Windows 11, here are some changes that we may expect to see:
A revamped Start menu
The Start menu is the “hub” for all Windows users and Microsoft has seemingly made a few changes to it. Users will have the option to see ‘recently added’ and ‘most used’ apps. It will also show users a collection of pinned app shortcuts along with a few recommendations. The live tiles have also been ditched by Microsoft in favour of pinned apps. Also, Microsoft is bringing the startup jingle for the first time since Windows 7.
All-new redesigned icons, logo
The icons on Windows 11 have been redesigned and will give a new look to the operating system. The icons will have a colourful gradient. The Windows logo too has been tweaked with Windows 11.
Big changes to the maximise button
With Windows 11, when users click the maximise button, they will see options about how they want to lock the window in place. There will be options like side by side with another app, or a grid-based view of three or four windows.
A new Xbox app
Windows 11 will have a new Xbox app that gives users direct access to the GamePass as well as other Xbox social features.
