Wordle will soon allow players to sync their progress across multiple devices, here’s how it will work – Times of India
Wordle, which has become a popular game with “tens of millions of users” over the past year, is receiving a new upgrade. Initially, Started as an independent project, the Wordle game was acquired by New York Times (NYT) earlier this year.
The popular game in the last few months has become a part of the daily routine for many. However, so far the game didn’t save players’ progress across devices. According to a tweet by NYT, this is set to change. Wordle is working on a feature that will allow users to sync their progress, regardless of the device they play on. NYT is making this feature exclusive for its members. Incidentally, the sync feature will be available to both free and paid members. “Exciting news, Wordlers. You will soon have the option to link your Wordle stats to your free or existing New York Times account. This means saving stats and your streak across *all* the devices you play Wordle on,” shared New York Times in a tweet.
Wordle sync across multiple devices: How it will work
Until now, Wordle only allowed players to use a single device at a time. For example, if players start the game on their smartphones all their progress is saved on that device. If a user “reset, lose, or replace” the device, they lose all of their progress. Once the new feature starts rolling out, Wordle users can link their NYT accounts to their Wordle accounts. This will allow players to sync their game across devices and “play toward that progress” from any device they are logged into.
Wordle multiple devices support feature availability
According to NYT, Wordle multiple devices support feature has already started rolling out. However, it may take some time to be available to all users. ”If you don’t see the option to link your account on the device where you play Wordle every day, hold on tight! The feature is coming to you soon. Once stats are linked to a New York Times account, this process cannot be reversed. Happy solving!” added the NYT tweet.’
Players need to note that once the user links his account, the process cannot be reversed.
