World War Z: Aftermath, the sequel to the zombie co-op shooting game World War Z, is set to launch today. The game will launch on PS4, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S. It will launch for the PS5 next year and if you are upgrading, then it will be free for you. The zombie game is also going to launch on Nintendo Switch on November 2, 2021. Take a look at the Nintendo Switch reveal trailer.

New maps, new zombies and first-person mode
The World War Z experience is best had with a group of friends who can band up together with you for the survival challenges the game gives you. This time, Saber Interactive and Koch Media have added new maps, new characters, a melee system, new types of zombies and a new Horde mode in Aftermath. The game retains the old characters even after adding new ones whom you can choose and play. Also, Aftermath adds the First-Person Mode option, which should give you a more life-like action.
Seven playable classes
There will be seven playable classes to choose from. These include Gunslinger, Hellraiser, Slasher, Medic, Fixer, Exterminator and Dronemaster. Each comes with a unique set of abilities and perks. To take on more difficult missions, you could make your weapons more powerful through customisation.

The Horde mode
The expansion adds a new Horde Mode XL game mode which will arrive as a free post-launch update. The mode is exclusive to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. The specialty this mode is the increase in the number count of zombies which usually is already quite big. The Swarm Engine of the game comes into play with this mode, and the developers want to fill the screen with more zombies as the game promises to feature “hundreds of more zombies on screen than ever before possible.”
