xbox: Xbox may get support for Android apps, claims report – Times of India

Microsoft is set to launch Windows 11 on October 5 this year. The tech giant has, however, made it clear that the new OS won’t come with support for the Android apps. Instead, it will be offered to the Windows Insiders. Called the Windows Subsystem for Android, the app has appeared on the Microsoft Store and while nothing much reportedly (by XDA Developers) happens upon downloading it, save for a blank window popping up, the app is listed as available for the Xbox consoles. This includes the Xbox One family and the next-gen Xbox Series X and S consoles.
Does that mean we may get to play Android games on the Xbox? It is a possibility. Microsoft is already making gaming a lot more flexible through Cloud where you can join in with your friends on a single gaming title from a laptop, tablet, phone and console of course. If some of the Android games arrive on Xbox, then the possibilities for those games to reach more people will increase only. However, all of this is a matter of speculation only, with no confirmation by Microsoft in this regard. For now, the Android apps are not arriving on Windows 11 only, let alone the Xbox gaming console.
The Xbox Cloud gaming will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles this holiday season via the Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The gaming service is already there for PCs, tablets and smartphones. As per Microsoft, Xbox Game Pass subscribers would be able to jump directly in the game with buddies without having to download any game. There will be over 100 games to choose from at the time of the launch of the Xbox Cloud Gaming.
