Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S Ultra vs iPhone 13 Pro Max: Endurance test results
The Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra are up against the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Realme GT 2 Pro, Redmi K40, Redmi K50 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The smartphones’ benchmark reveals significant improvements in performance and battery life over the Xiaomi 12 series, which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. However, the screen-on-time test revealed surprising results. Let’s have a look.
Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S Ultra benchmarks
The Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra are compared with the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Realme GT 2 Pro, Redmi K40, Redmi K50 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The results (via) shared by YouTuber, Geekerwan, reveal that Xiaomi 12S Pro and 12S Ultra with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 outperform every Android flagship smartphone on the list, including MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered handsets. However, the phones are behind the iPhone 13 Pro Max in the 3DMark Wildlife Stress Test benchmark, where the device goes through 20 loops of heavy loads for a long period.
Another test the YouTuber performs is the SoT (screen-on-time) endurance test where things get interesting. The Xiaomi 12S Pro lasts 7 hours and 50 minutes and the 12S Ultra 7 hours and 47 minutes, beating the 7 hours and 42 minutes SoT of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12-series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 4,600mAh battery – same as Xiaomi 12S-series – only have 5 hours and 44 minutes screen-on-time. This shows us how much-improved performance and battery life the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 offers over its predecessor.
The SoT test entail gaming (Genshin Impact), social media (TikTok scrolling and WeChat messaging and voice/video calls), web browsing, and video streaming. Each task was tested for 30 minutes until the battery was exhausted.
It is important to note that the tests were done in China with Chinese models, OS, and applications, and the results can be different for the global models.
