Xiaomi 12T series chipset details tipped: expected launch timeline, specifications

Previously, we came across an FCC certification of the Xiaomi 12T with model number 22071212AG, and the key specifications were tipped in the past as well. However, some new reports suggest that the leaked specifications were of Xiaomi 12T Pro, codenamed “diting”.

According to tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the Xiaomi 12T, codename “plato”, will launch with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra chipset, the same SoC that powers OnePlus 10R and Realme GT Neo 3. This suggests that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor could power the Xiaomi 12T Pro model.

To recall, previous leaks and an FCC certification revealed the key specifications and connectivity details of a Xiaomi 12T-series phone. The handset is now believed to be the Xiaomi 12T Pro and it is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Connectivity options on the Xiaomi 12T Pro include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-fi 6, GPS, OIS, IR blaster, and 5G with 7 network bands support. The smartphone could support 120W fast charging and may ship with Android 12-based MIUI 13. The phone is tipped to launch in Q3 2022. The Xiaomi 12T series is said to make its China debut as the Redmi K50S series.
