Although the majority of smartphone releases are already behind us as we reach December, there are still a few promising ones in the works. Major smartphone debuts are scheduled for December 2022 from companies including Xiaomi, Realme, iQOO, Moto, and others. The list includes smartphones that are being released in China and India this month. There will therefore be many options available to you in December 2022 if you’re in the market for a new smartphone. Let’s take a look at every phone that will be released this month.
Xiaomi 13
The Xiaomi 13 will have a 6.36-inch E6 AMOLED FHD+ flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and razor-sharp bezels, which is a significant improvement over the previous edition. The handset has been confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 internal storage. On the optics front, the Xiaomi 13 is expected to come with a 32-megapixel front camera. The vanilla model will have a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50-megapixel main sensor, along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. The phone will house a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. It will boot MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box.
Xiaomi 13 Pro
The Xiaomi 13 Pro sports a 6.73-inch E6 AMOLED Quad HD+ curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support. The handset is to be powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, along with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 internal storage. On the imaging side of things, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will get a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50-megapixel main sensor, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. A 32-megapixel snapper on the front will take care of the selfies and video calls.
The Xiaomi 13 series will also be the first global series from Xiaomi to come with the Leica partnership. The phone will house a 4,820mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. It will debut MIUI 14 based on Android 13 right out of the box.
iQOO 11
The iQOO 11 packs a 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED 1.5K flat panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The handset is to be powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, along with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 internal storage. In terms of optics, the next iQOO flagship will include Vivo’s proprietary V2 ISP chip and a triple camera arrangement on the rear with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. A 16-megapixel camera on the phone will be in charge of taking selfies. The device will ship with an Android 13 operating system based on OriginOS 3 and include a sizable 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
iQOO 11 Pro
In contrast to the standard model, the iQOO 11 Pro has a 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED Quad HD+ curved screen with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ compatibility, and Dolby Vision. The handset will be powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, along with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 internal storage. Regarding the optics, there is a triple camera arrangement with Vivo’s unique V2 ISP technology and a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. Selfies and video calls will be taken care of by a 16-megapixel camera. The handset will arrive with OriginOS 3-based Android 13 OS and will house a large 4,700mAh battery with 200W fast charging support.
Moto X40 (China)
The Moto X40 will first launch in China and probably be rebranded as the Moto Edge 40 Pro in India and globally. It will will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 165Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colours, and HDR10+ support. The handset will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, along with up to 18GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 internal storage. The smartphone will include three cameras on the back: a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter. The front of the phone will have a 60-megapixel selfie camera. It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and support 68W or 125W rapid charging while running Android 13 on the MyUI 5 platform.
iQOO Neo 7 SE
The iQOO Neo 7 SE will come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will come equipped with the as-yet-unannounced MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and as much as 512GB of internal UFS3.1 storage. The device will have a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple camera array with a 64-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the back. The iQOO Neo7 SE will boot the Android 13 OS with OriginOS 3 on top. Other features on the smartphone include NFC, an IR blaster, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.
Realme 10 Pro
The Realme 10 Pro packs a 6.73-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and narrow bezels. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS2.2 internal storage. On the camera front, the handset comes with a dual camera setup on the rear with a 108-megapixel main sensor along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Selfies and video calls will be handled by the front-facing 16-megapixel camera. The device has the most recent version of Android 13 preinstalled along with Realme UI 3.0 and is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
Realme 10 Pro+
The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will ship with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC along with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS3.1 internal storage. The handset will sport a 16-megapixel camera on the front and a triple camera setup on the rear with a 108-megapixel main sensor, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Other features on the smartphone include NFC, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
